The Meath Weather Cam

An Insight into Irish Weather, 24/7

Camera Info

Our webcam is a Y-cam White Wireless IP Network Camera. We have it enclosed in a black shell that's mounted on our outside wall.

It connects wirelessly to our router, which forewards the camera port to our external IP address, which is then tracked by our Dynamic DNS service provider. The external camera address is now linked to our Live Cam page so that people can access the camera directly.

The live image stream is now available in a fast ActiveX, MPEG4 streaming format for Internet Explorer users, & a slower Motion-JPEG stream for non-IE users. (Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome & Opera). Just select your browser on the Live cam page to view the stream. We recommend using Internet Explorer for a smoother image. (Internet Explorer will not work using the Motion-JPEG stream,  & equally all the other browsers will not work using the ActiveX stream)

Note: If you use Internet Explorer you will have to install the plugin to access the stream. When you click "Internet Explorer" on the Live Cam page, you will see a blank page with a yellow bar at the top. Click the yellow bar to install the plugin. Follow the instructions on-screen, remember to click "install, allow" etc. to complete the plugin installation. When finished, the page should refresh and the image will be displayed. You will only have to do this the first time you view this page, it will load normally from then on.

The camera is online 24/7. Time stated on the camera image is Irish (GMT + 0:00, Western Europe Standard Time).

If the camera seems to be offline it could be due to maintenance or a fault.

If you are experiancing problems with the camera please contact us on our contact page.
